The 1st Blade piece actually slides through the hilt into the pommel spear as well gets locked into place by the pegs that connect the hand guard to the hilt.
As with many of my blade models, the blade is segmented and will feature alignment pegs (think Legos). Some Draft is added at the end of the peg cavities in order to ensure no supports are needed. Similarly, the pegs are a tad more shallow than the holes they fill to ensure that they align the blade without leaving a gap between them. All this is explained in greater detail in the tutorial I made in how to design alignment pegs, but I went ahead and explained it here as well since I am strapped for features.
If you would like to download demo versions of any of my models, you can find them here
You can read more about this model and my experience building it here.
All my models are designed with a focus on hidden seams, ease of assembly, little to no support printing, and accuracy in mind.
If you need any help with the printing or building process, or you just have a prop you would like to see me do, feel free to email me.
